ABOUT US
The Louvre Abu Dhabi aims to showcase: “The stories of human creativity that transcend individual cultures of civilizations, times, or places.”
A new cultural hub located on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the Louvre sheds light on the different stages humanity has faced throughout the years.
This museum is a result of a partnership demonstrated amongst France and Abu Dhabi back in 2007, when the two countries decided to turn a barren island into an art and cultural district – the region’s first of its kind. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an official branch of one of the oldest museums in France, also named Louvre, famous for housing some of the most renowned art pieces in the world, for example: Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci.
From traditional to contemporary art, the Louvre is brimming with the most interesting art taken from all over Middle East, while some has been transported from the museum in France. The Louvre Abu Dhabi showcases alluring pieces of art by artists like: Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, and many more.
